MAN, we are so thankful for the recent outreach the Lord blessed us with! We had the opportunity to hand out almost 500 DVD's of "The Biggest Question" and had several one on one conversations including one with a set of Mormon Missionaries (See transcript below).
The DVD is such a great ice breaker as we ask people what they think is the most common asked question today and most reply with "Who is the true God?" or "Am I going to Heaven?".
What's so awesome is usually the best conversations we have I notice is when people respond with a silly question like they are trying to heckle.
One person particularly was a woman named Lydia. She walked up to our table willingly and just wanted to observe what was laid out. I told her we were giving out DVD's completely free and she was welcome to take one. She responded by saying she was not interested because she over heard that it was about truth and she does not believe there is absolute truth.

It was such a great opportunity to minister to Lydia as we were at a swap meet and everyone there is conscious of their money so I asked her a question. I responded, "Since truth is relative, how about you give me a ten dollar bill and ask for change back and I only give you $1. Would that be ok?"Lydia replied, "Uh, no. I want all my money back."
I told her, "But, I thought truth is relative so I think change for $10 is just $1. So I'm just going to give you what I think."
"But what you think doesn't matter because change for $10 is still equal to $10," Lydia demanded.
"Awe, so truth is objective and matters?" I insisted.
"Of course."
"So, you really don't believe truth is relative because you know there is a truth that we can not change or interpret such as math?"
Stuttering, Lydia responded, "I never really thought about it like that."
WOW, praise Jesus for drawing Lydia over. It was her hardened heart that brought her over and it was God that brought the increase that broke down barriers and planted that seed of truth.
Please lift up Lydia and the others we were able to communicate the Gospel too. We know that it was nothing special we brought except the Word of God that was delivered by the Holy Spirit in us. Praise Him!!!
The picture on the right is Josh Boubion and his family. They were able to minister at a "Back to School" event in his neighborhood by passing out the DVD's. It was so amazing to know that God was using so many that night all across the city of Tucson. Note 1: This is not to make fun of what Mormons believe, but to give readers one example of a brief conversation with them.
Note 2: Too often Mormons are taught to steer the conversation. Don't go down their bunny trails. We always want to come across respectful, but going down their trails wastes time and gives them the illusion that they are in control.
Kyle: "How do you guys determine what the truth is?"
Mormons: "You'll know the truth because you'll get an emotional feeling that will tell you that it's true and from God."
Kyle: "But feelings can't always be trusted."
Flynn: "What happens if your emotional feeling tells you one thing and my emotional feeling tells me something that contradicts your feeling? Which would then be true?"
Mormons: "It just depends."
Kyle: "What about Jeffrey Dahmer? What he did he believed was right based on what he felt. After all, he believed in evolution and survival of the fittest."
Lead Mormon: "Well there are laws."
Flynn: "Where should we go to understand and know God's laws?"
Lead Mormon: "The Bible."
Flynn: "There's a reason Lady Justice has a blindfold over her eyes. Law is not based on emotion. Does that make sense?"
Mormons: "Sure."
Flynn: "So from what you've said we need to go somewhere more than our emotions. I see you've got your Bible and you opened it as we're talking. If we want to know the truth we have to ignore our emotions and go to the Word of God. After all the Bible says God's Word is true from the beginning."
Mormons: "All men start with the light of Christ."
Flynn: "Where in Scripture does is say that?"
Awkward pause for a couple minutes while the lead Mormon looks for a verse in his Bible.
Flynn: "Turn to John 3:17 and read it in your Bible."John 3:17-19: “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil."
Flynn: "Why would men need to come to Jesus if they, as you say, already have Him?"
Mormons: Blank stares
Flynn: "According to what you just read from your Bible it says men love darkness and need to come to the light. Why would people love darkness and need to come to the light if they already have the light of Christ?"
Mormons: Attempts to deflect and redirect by asking totally unrelated questions.
Flynn: "I'm sorry, I won't answer your questions until you answer mine."
Mormons: Blank stares
Flynn (Turning to the younger Mormon): "What do you think?"
Younger Mormon (Looking down at his Book of Mormon): No Comment
Flynn: "I see you have your Book of Mormon. If you guys could only take one book with you, would you choose the Bible or the Book of Mormon?"
Mormons: "Clearly, the Book of Mormon."
Kyle: "What about the contradictions between the Bible and The Book of Mormon?"
Mormons: "There are no contradictions. Name one."
Flynn: "According to the Bible is Satan a liar or one who tells the truth?"
Mormons: "Both, but he mainly lies."
Flynn: "Really, according to Jesus in John 8, Satan is not only a liar, but the father of lies."
Mormons: "Okay, sure."
Flynn: "So what was the first lie Satan told Adam and Eve?"
Mormons: "You shall surely not die."
Flynn: "First, he threw doubt on the Word of God by saying, "Yea, hath God said?" Then after saying, "You shall surely not die" what did he say?"
Mormons: Blank stares
Flynn: "You shall be like gods..." So the Father of Lies promised Adam and Eve they shall be like gods. This is the lie that led to the first sin of all mankind; the whole reason we are in the disaster we're in today. But Brigham Young, your prophet, said that Satan told the truth to Adam and Eve. So which is it? Did Satan lie to Adam and Eve or tell the truth?"
Mormons: Blank stares
Younger Mormon to leader Mormon: "Come on. Let's get going."
Flynn: "So which is it? Did Satan lie like the Word of God says or did he tell the truth like your prophet said? If he told the truth, how does telling the truth lead to the death of mankind, the entrance of sin into this perfect creation?"
Mormons: "We've got to go."
Flynn to Mormons as they are walking away: "Please consider these things. Your life depends on them."
